More Names to Faces

Hi, all! I’ve been able to track down some more pics of people Rob/Patch mentions in these posts (you might have noticed that some have been sprinkled in lately), and I wanted to share them with you!

First and foremost, the guys who have probably been mentioned most often: Astronaut, Heavy, and Maple Leaf.

Maple Leaf is first mentioned in “Looking Canadian,” and then he and the other two are mentioned in “Reunited (Temporarily),” “Scale(s) Magic,” “Foiled by a Padlock,” “A Quarter Down,” “Soggy Slogging,” and “That’s My Cue.”

Next, Karaoke and Sleep Walker, who were mentioned in “Hiker Number Six.”

Here are Bouge and Shenanigans. Bouge is mentioned in “Do Monks Even Play Baseball?,” and Shenanigans is mentioned in “Good Stuff,” “Welcome to Massachusetts,” and “Ample Exercise.”

On to Meow Mix and Paladin (formerly Chuckwagon), who are mentioned in “Small World” and “Half Squeezed.”

On the far right of this pic is Boots with the Fur (with three hikers named Hell Bender, Style, and Night Watch). He’s mentioned in “Boots, Fawdie, and DIY Pancakes,” “Pumped Up Kicks,” “Cooking with Rum,” “Snoozefest,” “Water Talk and Missed Markers,” and “Half Squeezed.” (I was disappointed to see that his boots did not have fur on them after all.)

Next up, Ghost Pepper and Joy. Ghost Pepper is mentioned in “Slacking Two Ways,” though we didn’t know his name then. He’s one of the hikers who appeared when I was dropping Rob/Patch off, and he had a Coke and some peppermint patties. He and Joy are both mentioned in “Bunny Buddies” and “Oh S—t.”

This is Heisenberg, who’s mentioned in “Pretty Fantastic” and “Thankful for Dogs.

Chef is mentioned in “Beach, Please.”

Matcha was mentioned in “Welcome to Massachusetts” and is pictured here with Half Boot, Groovy, and Groovy’s brother. Matcha is the second from the right.

Gentle Yeti has been mentioned several times: “Nero to Jim & Molly’s,” “Nothing Earth-Shattering,” “Hands Up!,” “Pumped Up Kicks,” “Otherwise, I’m Great,” and “Water Talk and Missed Markers.

Remember the hiker who was known early on as simply “Other Rob” but then got the name Rabbit just before Damascus? He’s still out there, not too far behind Rob/Patch. He’s mentioned in “Bed Today, Puddle Tomorrow,” “Full Belly 400,” “Full-On Zero,” “Pretty Fantastic,” and “Thankful for Dogs.”

And finally, Guidebook, who never seems to remember that he’s met Rob/Patch multiple times. 😄 He’s mentioned in “Slacking Two Ways” and “Guest Post: Trail Magic.”
